For reasons unknown, the major recordlabels have limited the late 18th. century to having only two
composers. Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. And following them, only Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven. I have
never understood this policy and I never will. Fortunately a number of labels have now opened their eyes for other composers of
the period. Here is a selection of those.
