December 5th. 2009 :

New CD from Solstice Ensemble featuring a world premier recording of Michael Haydn's Divertimento á 3 in D major, Hob.IV:D3 (MH173) as the final piece. The main content of the CD is Josef Haydn's Divertimenti for the Salomon Concerts Hob.II:25-26 and Hob.II:29-30. A delightful CD, with some of Josef Haydn's lighter music, skillfully played by the Belgian Ensemble. And with a nice surprise to round off a total of 73 minutes of charming music. The Divertimento a 3 in D major, Hob.IV: D3, for viola, horn and contrabas shows us a rarely touched side of Michael Haydn. The parts for viola and contrabas being highly virtuosic.
